Besides the ballpark, there are many things to do and see in the area.  Numerous restaurants are within walking distance of Nationals Park.  The Navy Yard Metro station is steps away from the ballpark.  The Department of Transportation, the Washington Navy Yard, and Marine Barracks Washington DC are among the government facilities nearby.  You can walk the Anacostia Riverwalk past Navy Yard Park to the Navy Yard pier where you can see the USS Barry.  Just off the Riverwalk, you can stop in at the Trapeze school where they will teach you how to become a high flier.  You can also take the metro to the Eastern Market Station and experience the Artisan Food Market there, or head to Barracks Row for food or drinks. The possibilities are endless.​
