This website was started by Jacqueline Dupree, who lives in the area and decided to track the changes happening around her.  There are great before and after pictures available on her site.  Click on the picture above to get to her interactive map.

Launched in 2000, the AWI is a program lead by the government of the District of Columbia.  Its goal is to turn "the shores of the Anacostia River into a world-class waterfront." It has info on what is coming next in the 30-year, $10 billion revitalization program.  Click on the photo to see AWI's transportation Projects.

According to its website, "The Capitol Riverfront Business Improvement District (BID) is dedicated to making the Capitol Riverfront clean, safe, friendly and vibrant."  BID is a partnership between the community and business leaders and its goal is to guide development in the area to be "green" and to build community.  Click on the picture to see an overview of the Capitol Riverfront Neighborhood.

In an age that is becoming more and more digital, the need for a backup plan is crucial to preserving data.  Systems crash; disasters strike; things happen.  In order to ensure the preservation of my work, I believe in multiplicity.  All text (including the bibliography) and pictures on this site have been saved to a folder on my computer and backed up on the web and onto a flash drive.  All articles used in my timeline are saved in a spread sheet that includes title, date and name of publication, author, and web address.  The spreadsheet is also backed up as stated above.  Articles from journals have been printed out and filed.  The site will be monitored at least yearly to repair broken links and to update information.  All updates will be preserved as above.

To help prevent the website from being hacked, I have chosen not to add a blog or feedback element to this site.  If there becomes a need to add such at a later date, I will consult a professional to determine the most up to date and cost effective methods available to me.  The site on wix.com is password protected and that password will be changed every 30 days.  The password has been established using the criteria discussed in class.
